Justin's Story

Justin Powell was born in Clarksville, Tennessee and as part of a military family, he spent much of his childhood moving around the world. Justin has a love for sports, playing football and baseball as a child. He moved to Orlando, Florida at the age of 13 where he began high school and eventually moved to Pensacola, Florida for his undergraduate studies at the University of West Florida. He is currently working on his Doctorate in Pharmacy at Marshall University School of Pharmacy in Huntington, West Virginia, with an expected graduation date of May 2018.

Ashley's Story

Ashley Dodson was born and raised in Florida, spending most of her childhood in the Pensacola area. As a child you could always find Ashley at the barn. Her love for horses was evident. She studied at the University of West Florida prior to beginning her Doctorate in Pharmacy at South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah, Georgia. After graduation she moved to West Virginia with Justin, and is currently in a one-year residency program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.

Our Story

Justin and Ashley met in 2012 at the University of West Florida when they were both enrolled in the same physics class. After going their separate ways, a few years later they reconnected while they were both in pharmacy school programs in two different states. For their first date, Justin traveled 4 hours one-way to Savannah, GA and that is where the fireworks began. A year of long distance relationship only built a stronger bond together. The day before Ashley graduated from pharmacy school in June 2016, Justin proposed to her in the very spot where they took their first picture.
